In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, Neena Gupta spoke about her personal life. The actress revealed how the pandemic was a great learning experience for her and her husband, Vivek Mehra, to know more about each other and enjoy their marriage.
The actress was 50 years old when she married Vivek, a New Delhi-based chartered accountant, on July 15, 2008. As she lives in Mumbai and he lives in Delhi, it was only last year when the pandemic struck that Neena and Vivek lived together as husband and wife for the first time.
Neena said she used to communicate with Vivek in sign language, as he was always busy with work calls.
“In the beginning, I used to say, ‘Arre, we are together, but I hardly see you. You’re always on the phone, I can’t talk to you.’ But now he says: ‘Arre, you are so busy! You are always available. ‘And I am very happy that way, so I learned that I also have to be busy. I read or call my friends and talk to them or do whatever it is”

She added that she cannot depend on him for her happiness or time to share. The actress was last seen in the newly released film, Sardar Ka Grandson, with Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh.
